Kogi guber: N10bn Refund To Kogi For Sinister Motives – APGA

The Kogi State All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship campaign council has faulted the planned refund of N10.069billion to the state government few weeks to the November 16 governorship election.
It will be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari had earlier during week presented a formal request to the Senate for the approval of N10.069 billion refund to Kogi state.
But the opposition says such move at this time of the election was ill-advised and anti-people as the state’s commonwealths will be allegedly plundered again for the purpose of the election especially to buy votes for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, incumbent Governor Yahaya Bello.
“Kogi State has numerous challenges as we speak, the majority of which were caused by the failure of the current leadership of our state under the All Progressives Cogress (APC).
“For close to four years, they left our roads, healthcare system, security and education sectors unattended to despite receiving tranches of bailouts from the Federal Government. Curiuosly, four weeks to the decisive election, which will serve as a referendum on their ineptitude and bad governance, they are being offered another tranche of N10.069 billion just like that.
“The money is definately meant to buy votes and influence the processes of the November 16 governorship election in favour of the ruling party. This is against the people’s will and unacceptable in a state where salary payment to workers is a big deal and being celebrated as a achievement by the state governor,” APGA said.
