Why Every Youth Must Vote BELLONOJA By Ameh Moses

Published

on

As the November election approaches, all political parties are stepping up their games and putting their houses together to ensure victory at the polls. It is an indubitable fact that politics is all about interest. You chose who to support if and if only you love the candidate’s ideology and policies. I made a resolution to support BELLONOJA come November because, whether anybody like it or not, there is a revolution in Kogi State currently. A break away from the old tradition and the youths are the vehicle through which this revolution has made itself manifest. Kogi State is not for some certain families. Before now, if you must be a commissioner, a member of the house of rep or senator, you must come from the family of the Ibros, Wadas and the Audus. The current government has been able to break away from that ill gotten culture. Currently in Kogi state anybody can become anything Irrespective of your family background. I have my own ambition as well as a youth. I have a dream that one day I should become a commissioner or a member of the house of assembly, but i am not from a wealthy family like the tradition used to be.. but under this current administration, there is hope for the common man like me. PDP released their campaign committee list recently flooded with the names of these old men.. The likes of senator Tunde Ogbehia, Nicolas Ugbane. If they win, they will surround themselves with these old men and become unaccessible. These are the same old men I have been hearing their names right from when I was in primary school. When will the youths be given an opportunity if not now? I make bold to say it is only a vision less youth that will vote wada come November. It is an era for the youths. The earlier we realise this as youths the better for us all. Some will pretend and hide under the payment of salaries to seek for their selfish interest of amassing wealth for their family. Everyone knows that civil service reform is not a joke. It is a process and the current administration has been able to establish that fact and with time we will all begin to see the positive side. If not for the current administration, I ask myself: when will the common man like me ever have hope? I will stand in the midst of multitude to prove the fact that the current administration has liberated the common man especially the youths from the shackles of pains and oppression. we are children of the scientific age. It is a digital world. I cannot vote any candidate that is not accessible. For instance, even if you can’t reach the governor and you can’t go to the government house, you can send message to Chief Edward Onoja on WhatsApp, Facebook and you are sure he will read those messages. Let’s talk about good governance agenda and stop promoting tribalism. There is a burning passion to liberate ourselves. I therefore enjoin all the youths to understand the fact that there is a movement to free ourselves from the strict jacket of formalism into the free world of realistic sciences. God bless KOGI STATE.
